Ernie Bird is a versatile actor and singer with over 20 years of experience.

He started taking private vocal lessons at the age of 5, and soon became child celebrity in Ukraine after his first TV appearance at the age of 7. He was a frequent winner and finalist of reality TV shows such as Step to The Stars, Wanna Be a Star, Junior Eurovision (National Selection) and other prime-time shows aired on First National Channel, 1+1 and other national TV channels. As a film actor, he had a leading role in School Break series produced by Film.ua group, and The Story of Mr. Sommer. He also played a leading role in two musicals: Dolls and Colorful Dreams of Ecole (Republic of Kids, High School Musical adaptation).

At the age of 15, he became a voiceover actor at Dolby-certified Le Doyen Postproduction Studio. He did official Ukrainian voiceovers for Max in A Goofy Movie (Walt Disney Pictures) and other films, such as Bad Teacher, Hercules and others.

Once he turned 17, in 2012, he moved to the US to receive B.M. at Berklee College of Music. There he acted in Midsummer Night’s Dream (Flute/Thisbe), Legally Blonde and Cabaret. He was vocally trained by Donna McElroy and Steven Santoro. He also finished the musical theatre writing minor, and released is band album, He & He. He also received extensive IPA training in Standard American English and German accents.

In 2018 he got into the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU as a composer with a full scholarship. He composed for two musicals (thesis advisers: Rachel Sheinken, Fred Carl, Mel Marvin). He graduated in May 2020. Even though in NYC Ernie focused on composition and writing, he acted in The 25th… Spelling Bee (Flute/Thisbe, The Pit) and many stage readings. He also performed at the Birdland Jazz Club, Shrine, Silvana, Don’t Tell Mama and other places in NYC and Boston.

Recently Ernie played Crepitus in Pompeii Rising at the Judson Memorial Church. In May 2022, Ernie got an Einstein “genius” EB1A Green Card based on his achievements in musical theatre writing and composition. With over 10 years of acting experience in the US, he is looking forward to return to acting full-time.
